            THE ART OF

            JANET HAMMOND


            This website is a showcase for the realistic paintings of American artist and teacher, Janet Hammond, who grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She studied art at the Corcoran School of Art, Washington, D.C. and the Maryland College of Art and Design, Silver Springs, Maryland. She has exhibited in galleries and museums in the East as well as national juried competitions. Also, Hammond has held workshops and demonstrations for various groups and is currently a member of the faculty at Chester Springs Studio, Chester Springs, Pa. She has demonstrated portraiture at the Delaware Art Museum and lectured on portraiture at the Brandywine River Museum. Her portraits are in many notable families, and her paintings are in private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada and Europe.
